Happy is the man that finds wisdom
Many people divorce and remarry because they think that it will make them happy. In fact, many people make decisions based solely on what they think will make them happy. However, what we think will make us happy, is not what God says will make us happy. Most people's purpose in life is "to be happy". However, God says we are created for His glory (Isaiah 43:7). Therefore, we should based our actions on "what will glorify God", not "what will make me happy". As you glorify the Lord in obedience, God will make you happy.
Delight thyself also in the LORD;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Psalms 37:4
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
and the man that getteth understanding.
Proverbs 3:13
This is not what the world thinks..the world thinks "happy is the man that getteth a new car...".
Be not deceived; God is not mocked:
for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Galatians 6:7
Even if we don't believe that getting God's wisdom will make us happy, God will not be mocked. If a person seeks to be happy be remarrying, God will make sure that that person will not be happy in that remarriage.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love;
even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you,
and that your joy might be full.
John 15:10-11
Actually, Paul says the woman who does not marry will actually be happier than the one who marries:
The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.
1 Corinthians 7:39-40
